WayMaker Luncheon: Come to Me & Rest - Secondary Trauma in Ministry & Service

May 13th  | 12-1:30pm

Those who work with individuals experiencing homelessness and human trafficking are often deeply committed, compassionate, and resilient—but even the strongest hearts can grow weary. Come to Me and Rest is a powerful and timely conversation about secondary trauma, the emotional and psychological toll that can quietly build in those who serve others day after day.

This luncheon is more than a discussion—it’s a call to care for the caregivers. Whether you’re in frontline ministry, case management, advocacy, or leadership, recognizing and addressing secondary trauma is essential to sustaining long-term, life-giving work.

This conversation goes beyond relevance—it’s essential. Addressing secondary trauma through intentional, nuanced systems of care not only protects the well-being of caregivers, but also strengthens the support we’re able to offer those we serve. When we care for our teams with the same compassion we extend to our clients, everyone benefits.
